Emily Dunklee

Emily is a former State agency reviewer passionate about public health. She is an expert in School Nutrition and likes to dig deep into school nutrition rules and regulations.

About Emily

Emily began her obsession with all things school meals while serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the Montana Food Bank Network over 10 years ago. Her passion for vegetables, nutrition advocacy, and policy continued to grow over the years while she worked as a state agency School Nutrition Specialist conducting USDA Administrative Reviews and as the Summer Food Service Program Manager at the Montana Office of Public Instruction. Most recently, Emily brought her enthusiasm for school meals to the local level, focusing on school meals through the lens of the public health system at the Missoula City-County Health Department. Emily loves to put together complex school meal policy puzzle pieces to see the big picture at play. You can often find Emily taking a deep dive through meal participation data, searching for trends and patterns that help communities better understand the story of school nutrition. She applies this knowledge to LunchAssist clients and is highly regarded as a detail-oriented, trusted advisor to her clients and colleagues alike.
